Sigh! Preity and Kareena are friends, finally…

Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor have finally decided to let bygones be bygones. One side, the bubbly Zinta went all out to praise Kareena Kapoor, the other side saw Kareena complimenting Preity on her sweetness.

On the other hand, Kareena said, “I am really flattered with Preity’s compliment. She is really sweet and very genuine as a person. She always speaks her mind so I know whatever she wrote was heartfelt.”
Now this gestures made by both the actresses towards each other comes as a real surprise. Their rivalry goes back to the year 2008 when at a party hosted by Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta snubbed Kareena Kapoor in public. The fight got worsen when Kareena was replaced by Preity in Karan Johar’s ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’.
But leaving past behind, we are guessing the two actresses have made up and are now friends.

“Ash and I have always been there for each other”: Preity Zinta.

As soon as the news of Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s pregnancy was announced, there were n number of names that popped up to replace her in her upcoming film.
One such name was actress Preity Zinta, who’s fuming at reports of her replacing Ash, who reportedly is also her BFF.“I am very disturbed with these false reports. I really fail to understand why no one checks with me on its authenticity. (Filmmaker) Rajkumarji (Santoshi) is a close friend, so are the Bachchans,” she says.
Zinta has always maintained that Ash and she have become good friends over the last couple of years. Talking about their friendship, she had earlier said, “Ash is someone I can call a friend. We have kept in touch and shared our ups and downs through the years. We have always been there for each other through our tough times. I know that I can call her up anytime.”
Though Zinta is currently not in the country, she is happy with the news of Ash’s pregnancy. She has conveyed her wishes to the family personally too. “Aishwarya is a dear friend of mine. I wish her all the very best,” she says.
Zinta plans to catch up with her BFF once she is back in town. Says a source close to the actor, “She is very happy for Aishwarya and Abhishek. They’re close friends and she has known them for years now. Once she is back, she may take them out for a celebratory dinner to catch up on some much needed quality time.”

Preity Zinta now into film production

Preity Zinta has launched her own production banner, PZNZ Media, and is all set to produce her first film this year, a romcom to be directed by Prem Soni.
Preity, who has yet to pick the cast for the film, tells a formal announcement will be made soon. A part of the film will be shot abroad, but strictly on a budget. The actress is confident that she will succeed as a producer because she can work hard and has the right instinct when it comes to film scripts.
“It’s an instinct for choosing the right movie that’d got me where I am today,” she points out.
A friend prompted Preity to turn film producer, pointing out that she had jumped into IPL without knowing anything about cricket so she could certainly produce a film.
“Of course, after that I took a course at the Harvard Business School, asked a million questions and gave two years to the game. Film is my core competence and it should be easier focusing on it,” Preity says.
“Suddenly, the sky is bluer, the birds are singing and life is so cool,” she adds.
Prem Soni’s last film, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, headlining Salman Khan bombed at the box office, but Preity is unfazed.
“I’d rather work with someone who’s fallen down hard than someone who’s at the top because he’s driven to go out there and prove a point to the world. Even Imtiaz Ali’s first film, Socha Na Tha, wasn’t a blockbuster but today everyone wants to work with him,” Preity says.

Preity Zinta shot to fame as the refreshing, cool, wet model in the Liril commercial. She also modeled for Perk and her dimpled smile won the hearts of millions. Preity never thought she would be an actress. Kapoor saw her in the Liril commercial and liked her so much that he instantly decided that the next film he would announce would have her in the lead. However, 'Tara Rum Pum' never got made and is still pending since the director got very busy with his other projects.

But another offer soon came by, Kundan Shah's Kya Kehna (2000). Though the film was the first, Preity had actually begun shooting for her first release which was Mani Ratnam's Dil Se.. (1998). The film was a hit which won Preity accolades. Later Abbas-Mustan's Soldier (1998/I) that too was a hit at the box-office confirmed she was here to stay. Though Kya Kehna (2000) was her first film, but it released in 2000 and was the surprise hit of 2000.

Her role in Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002) was appreciated and liked by all and that has made her an actress to reckon with in Bollywood. Actress Preity Zinta, who is currently making her presence felt on the small screen as the host of Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega, says she doesn't think much before taking her decisions.
'I've always been a very spontaneous person in my decisions. The fact that I jumped into cricket so quickly, that's a very big decision at the peak of your career. Not think and go. I got into films also like that without thinking too much. I think I believe in destiny and that's why I leave everything on it,'  said the model-turned-actress.

The 36-year-old, who took a two-year gap from films, will return to Bollywood this year with a couple of projects.

She gave hits like Soldier, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Dil Chahta Hai, Koi...Mil Gaya and Salaam Namaste.

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS) Actress Preity Zinta will be honoured at the Venice Film Festival for bringing cultural harmony through her work.
The actress will be awarded the “World Diamond Group Platinum Award for Peoples? Friendship” at the Kineo “Diamanti al Cinema” event at the 68th Venice Film Festival for her contribution towards reconciliation and cultural harmony among people of different cultures.
Preity will be felicitated with a white olive tree, with its tree trunk sculpted off a block of Carrara hand-carved marble, and its branches and leaves fashioned out of 3,333 grams of platinum and 3,003 diamonds - 2,503 marquise cut and 500 new 82 facets round cut - adding to a total of 366 carats.
Before leaving for the festival, an excited Preity posted on microblogging site Twitter Friday: “Its time 2 say goodbye 2 French Fries and Hi 2 French Fashion ! Yess… I will leave 4 Venice Film Festival Tomorrow. So excited.”

New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS) Preity Zinta’s first impression about Moscow has been rather unpleasant.
“Finally landed in Moscow! So tired & not the most pleasant experience. No porters, no one speaking English & utter confusion! Phew,” Preity posted on her Twitter page.
This is 36-year-old Preity’s first visit to the Russian capital. She is there for an event.

Mumbai, Nov. 25 -- Preity Zinta, who as just landed in Paris to start hooting for her debut production, Ishqk In Paris, couldn't accommodate another man on her show Up Close and Personal with PZ. The guest was that singer Pitbull. He was supposed to be in India around the time when her show would be over.
The producers didn't want to wait for the singer to land in India and shoot for their chat show. So, they decided to close with Anil Kapoor instead. Actually, I don't pity that Pitbull because not a soul had seen the chat show. It wouldn't have helped him being there!
